Charity:
In 2015, a refugee crisis resulting from several conflicts reached the shores of Europe. It was around this time I first wrote the melody that would become Fjall. It made me more aware than ever before how lucky I was to live amongst natural beauty in peace and safety. Many devastating conflicts are still persisting, and with them, millions of innocent lives are adversely effected (notably in Yemen, and Syria). As we roll from crisis to crisis, and new threats emerge (such as pandemic), old problems do not go away. Old problems can be compounded, and exacerbated.
My music is free (you can pay what you want to support me, if you can afford & would like to). However, if you can afford to do so, please consider giving a charity donation. I’m not set up to handle any charity donations directly. So, please give direct to any chosen charity.
Front of mind for me, in this instance is:
Medicins Sans Frontieres:

Ultimately, if you choose to give to charity, it is your money to give where you think it will best make an impact. Please research, and give to a credible organisation. Thank you.
About Fjall:
Fjall was written with a reoccurring image in mind: white snow falling around an imposing mountain ridge.
Once held in mind, different elements of the image would inhabit my focus. A blizzard easing, and coming to rest; dressing and illuminating the jagged edges of timeless, majestic rock. The snow whitened earth shining brighter and more vivid than the serene, inky blue, night sky that cloaks it. Fluttering ice crystals catching light from an unseen moon, glistening under the cloudless heavens. Thousands of frozen flashes dancing between the stars. A wintery festival of natural lights to still cold hearts further.
I am lucky enough to have travelled and explored many mountains. I hope to see many more. They bring me great peace and joy. Be it walking amongst them, snowboarding down them, or simply being in their presence. The mental image conjured for Fjall is likely a product of all the great experiences the Fells have gifted me.
Fjall is my effort to score one mountain scene, informed by many. I hope it transports you somewhere as beautiful as the place I found writing it.
